Studio Spaces

As a CIA student, you will have your very own studio space from the time you enter your major until the time you graduate. Cleveland Institute of Art is one of the only art and design schools that provides personal space to all students in a major – beginning in their sophomore year.

Feel free to fill it with whatever inspires you most—posters, paint, tools, a computer, magazine cut-outs, t-shirts, stuffed animals, pictures of friends and pets, chocolate—or nothing at all. Keep your space as clean or messy as you’d like.

Your studio space is a place where your instructors can view and critique your work, and where you can visit with your studio neighbors. Another huge benefit is that you won’t have to carry your materials back and forth between home and school. You can simply store all of your supplies right in your own studio space.

Besides individual studio space, you'll have access to group studio areas, which are designed for your specific major and proudly display departmental student work.
