Major Graphic Design
I shape culture and build community through visual communication.
DESIGN IS EVERYWHERE
Graphic design is social, political, cultural, and commercial. It’s about making things public and making an impact — in print, on screens, and in space. Graphic design is books, websites, exhibitions, videos, signage, posters, packaging, and so much more.
WHY GRAPHIC DESIGN AT CIA?
The Digital Output Center will be your best friend. You will be able to print on vinyl and various papers and paper weights to achieve the best results.
Your personal studio space will become your second home. The open style space allows you to create, design, and collaborate with your peers.
Much of what you make, how you make, and with whom you make will happen in the real-world — through projects with external partners, presentations and exhibitions, and other opportunities to connect with the local design community.
Local, national, and international designers also visit campus to run workshops, give lectures, and participate in critiques.
You develop your craft as a designer with a balance between rigor and play. You learn how to develop ideas through hands-on making with various creative tools, spanning analog and digital modes, and emerging and traditional technologies.
Through a depth in typography, composition, and image making, you learn how to visually communicate ideas, messages, and experiences across systems of media.
