Michael C. Butz is an award-winning storyteller whose work at the Cleveland Institute of Art includes highlighting the successes of CIA students, alumni and faculty via articles as well as showcasing the meaningful, positive impact CIA has throughout Northeast Ohio. He accomplishes this by publishing content on multiple CIA platforms—including CIA's alumni magazine, "Link," and the college's website—and by working closely with members of the media in print, TV and radio.
Before joining CIA, Butz spent 13 years as a journalist, along the way working as a reporter, editor and photographer. During his eight years at the Cleveland Jewish News (Beachwood, Ohio), he earned multiple awards from the Ohio Society of Professional Journalists, Cleveland Press Club and American Jewish Press Association. Prior to that, he spent five years at The News-Herald (Willoughby, Ohio).
