Course Selection Advising

Course selection takes place each semester and is a time for you to review the progress you have made, explore options for the coming semester, and choose classes to form a completed schedule. Dates and information for course selection advising are sent to your student email account, so make sure you check it regularly.

Pre-Registration Tips

• The Registrar’s Office will send you a detailed email containing information you need for course selection which includes:
• Preliminary schedule
• Course descriptions
• Dates for when online registration opens for each class
• Instructions for creating your schedule on Campus Web

• To register online, you will need:
• Your Campus Web username and password
• If you do not have your password, you will need to contact Anne Adams, Assistant Registrar, by phone at 216.421.7321 or by email at aadams@cia.edu. 

• Review your degree audit available on Campus Web to determine which classes you must take. The degree audit is a tool that ensures you’re making appropriate progress in your major curriculum.

• If you are deficient in one or more courses: 
• You must receive the signature of an advisor before you may enter class choices on Campus Web. 
• Sign-up sheets will be available to schedule your appointment in the Office of Academic Services. 
• You will be informed by Academic Services via email if you need an advisor’s signature and provided with the dates your class can sign up for appointments.
• If you are required to meet with an advisor and you do not receive an advisor’s signature, your registration materials will not be processed.  

• If you are not deficient in classes but would still like to meet with an advisor, please feel free to stop by the Office of Academic Services anytime during course selection. We are always here to help you.

• Download a blank copy of the credit evaluation for your department. As curricula have changed over time, be sure to select the credit evaluation form from the year you entered school.
