Fall Orientation

You’ve already taken care of business this summer with StART online—so now it’s time for the fun part! Fall Orientation is a mandatory two-day program that takes place in August just before classes begin. Orientation will help you adjust to college life and embark on the road to a profession in art and design. Orientation runs from the morning through the evening. There are some additional elective programs that will allow students to explore Cleveland as well. All new students to CIA, including transfer students and non-traditional students, are encouraged to attend all parts of orientation.

During orientation, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Connect with student peers, faculty, and staff within the College
  • Explore academic and social possibilities that lie ahead
  • Orient yourself with campus surroundings, such as University Circle, Little Italy, and the many museums and cultural activities the area has to offer
  • Get acquainted with the people who run our school, including CIA’s president and dean of students
  • Learn from current faculty members about course expectations and living as a lifetime artist
