Library . Attention all book makers!
The CIA library has just acquired a copy of Biblio Tech: Reverse Engineering Historical and Modern Binding Structures. This is a set of twelve cut-away binding structure models. Examples include Ethiopian binding, medieval binding, split board binding, Colonial American scaleboard binding, and crossed structure binding. If you like making books, or ever wondered how a book is constructed, then you must take a look at this!!
If this interests you, then you might also enjoy How books work, by Julie Chen, and Artist’s book ideation cards, by Barbara Tetenbaum. Both titles are in the library. Don’t forget our Making a Book Research Guide for lots of additional resources!
