Public Domain: How to find and use copyright-free writings, music, art & more, by Stephen Fishman, is a new addition to the library! Written by an attorney, this guide explains how to identify music, art, writings, photography, movies, architecture, maps and more, that are available in the public domain and can be used freely, without permission or cost. The book provides step by step instructions on how to find and use these works. Several chapters include resources where public domain works can be found. This book could be very helpful to artists. Come in and take a look!

I stumbled onto this by accident. I was curious to see what is behind cia.edu. However, coming here I read this blog post. The book described here, is that a physical "old world" book or a digital something that one would be able to read ? Just curious ...

When a work is in the public domain, it is free for use by anyone for any purpose without restriction under copyright law. Public domain is the purest form of open/free, since no one owns or controls the material in any way.
