Everyone is welcome in the CIA Library! Our primary mission is to serve current students, faculty and staff of the Cleveland Institute of Art and our partner libraries--Case Western Reserve University, the Cleveland Institute of Music, the Rock Hall Library & Archives, and the Jewish Education Center of Cleveland's Garber Library. As an OhioLINK participant, we also welcome current students, faculty and staff from any OhioLINK library.
The general public, visiting scholars and art and design professionals are welcome to use the collections on-site on weekdays during regular business hours. Visitors wishing to use the library during nights or weekends should call in advance. Anyone 16 years of age or younger must be accompanied by an adult while in the library.
The CIA Library licenses, subsidizes, and provides access to a variety of digital resources and images for non-commercial educational and scholarly use by current Institute students, faculty, and staff and for library visitor reference. Use of digital images may have additional restrictions for use beyond CIA classroom instruction. If you are in doubt about the legality of your use of the library's digital resources or images, please contact the library staff.
The Gund Library also provides on-campus access to OhioLINK databases.
