For many years, CIA grad and professional artist George Kozmon ’82 has served as the director of the annual Cain Park Arts Festival in Cleveland Heights. This year, Kozmon is getting current CIA students involved as well. Cain Park Gets Schooled — A Collaboration with Cleveland Institute of Art is an exhibition of CIA student work that will be on view in the Audrey and Harvey Feinberg Art Gallery at Cain Park from Jul. 10 through Aug. 15. An opening reception is set for Jul. 10 from 6-8pm. The exhibition was curated by Michelle Stachnik.
Featured will be work by painting major Gloria Pridemore ’17, drawing majors Davon Brantley ’18 and Christine Meder ’16, drawing and painting double majors Elmi Ventura Mata ’16 and Anastasia Soboleva ’16, and game design major William Slabaugh ’17. In addition to exhibiting in the show, all six students will also be creating murals on large plywood boards with children during the Arts Festival.
