Witness: Selections from the Estate of Hughie Lee-Smith

The Valley Arts Firehouse Gallery in Orange will open two concurrent art exhibitions on Thursday, Jan. 29, both of which will run through Sunday, March 8. “Witness: Selections from the Estate of Hughie Lee-Smith” features striking works on paper selected from the estate of the great painter and printmaker Hughie Lee-Smith '38, 1915-1999, and “The Figurative Impulse” showcases the works of 10 contemporary artists who use aspects of the human figure as their primary subject.

An opening reception for both exhibitions will be on Thursday, Jan. 29, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the gallery.

Admission to the opening reception and the exhibitions is free and open to the public. The ValleyArts Firehouse Gallery, 580 Forest St., is open Thursdays, from 5 to 7:30 p.m, Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sundays, from 1 to 4 p.m.
