Add event to my calendar

Spend a lunch hour learning about the latest in art and design during these Friday lectures. Each lecture features a variety of artists and designers from around the world, including CIA faculty and visiting artists.

"To work for 35 years in art practice and to teach for over 20 years in different contexts has led to challenging and changing questions. These questions help me to understand (or not) the presence of art, even in everyday life, as well as to stimulate my imagination and critical thinking. In my talk, I will reflect on these questions that include:

  • How do we mediate "artistic practice"?
  • Can we afford "critical reflection"?
  • How do we make both Universal and Specific decisions (and what are these)?
  • What is Contemporary?

My reflections on these questions will be intertwined with looking at some contemporary artists and my own artistic work over the last four years."

This event is free and open to the public. Pizza and beverages will be provided.
