Lunch on Fridays: Kristin Thompson-Smith: Artist in the Classroom

Spend a lunch hour learning about the latest in art and design during these Friday lectures. Each lecture features a variety of artists and designers from around the world, including CIA faculty and visiting artists.

Educator-Artist Kristin Thompson-Smith is the Education Coordinator at the Museum of the Contemporary Art Cleveland. Kristin also serves as Adjunct Faculty at the Cleveland Institute of Art, teaching Putting Artists in the Classroom, Introduction to Art Education. She received her MA in Art Education from CWRU and her BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art in Sculpture. Throughout the last ten years, Kristin has taught and volunteered with over 2,000 students of diverse backgrounds and aptitudes. Kristin has taught in a wide array of schools and institutions, such as: Hope Academy in East Cleveland, Artmeus Ward Elementary and Alexander Graham Bell Elementary in the Cleveland Municipal School District, Charles F. Brush High School in South Euclid-Lyndhurst School District, The Cleveland Foundation’s SmArt Program, and Ursuline College’s Art Therapy Department.

This event is free and open to the public. Pizza and beverages will be provided.
