Fassbinder and His Friends

Fox and His Friends

Faustrecht Der Freiheit
West Germany | 1975 | R. W. Fassbinder

Fassbinder himself stars in one of his most powerful and beautifully photographed films. He plays an ex-carnival barker who wins the lottery, then is exploited by his bourgeois boyfriend. Though set in a gay milieu, this is really a scathing critique of class prejudice.

Subtitles. 35mm color print. 123 min.
