Whole Hogg
United Kingdom | 2007 | Joanna Hogg
Tom Hiddleston made his big-screen debut in this acute and impressive first feature by Brit up-and-comer Joanna Hogg. The film focuses on Anna, a childless 40-year-old British woman who goes on vacation in Tuscany with her longtime friend Verena, who is married with a brood of teenagers. But tensions arise between the two women when Anna hangs out more with the teens than with the adults. “A tremendously accomplished, subtle and supremely confident feature.” –The Guardian.
