9/18-21: Polyester, Ivory Tower, Policeman & more!
United States | 2012 | Paul Bunnell
This mad, midnight-movie concoction blends 1950s teensploitation flicks with cheesy sci-fi, and tops it off with wacky musical numbers à la Rocky Horror! Former Troma star Will Keenan and Creed Bratton of The Office star in this outlandish tale of an alien juvenile delinquent banished to self-destructive planet Earth for punishment. There he interacts with humans and tries to retrieve his stolen, all-powerful “resurrection suit.” With Kevin McCarthy (Invasion of the Body Snatchers) and Paul Williams. The Ghastly Love of Johnny X is reputedly the last film shot on Kodak’s discontinued 35mm Plus X b&w film stock.
Cleveland premiere. 35mm. 106 min.
