Master Iranian filmmaker Jafar Panahi (The White Balloon, The Circle, Offside), currently under house arrest in Tehran while appealing a six-year prison sentence and a 20-year-ban on filmmaking, documents (via digital video) a day in his apartment-bound life. The result, which was smuggled out of Iran to the Cannes Film Festival on a flash drive hidden in a cake (!), is one of the year’s most subversive and acclaimed whatsits. “A great film…A triumph of creativity and courage over repression.” –Entertainment Weekly.
