Now 50, Beatles classic A HARD DAY'S NIGHT shows in new digital restoration!
Richard Lester's A HARD DAY’S NIGHT (1964) is a whimsical look at a few days in the life of the Beatles. This madcap, inventive delight is one of the most influential music films ever made, with some great songs. Catch it in a new 50th anniversary digital restoration on Friday or Saturday.

Daffy Duck stars in LOONEY TUNES, PROGRAM 2
LOONEY TUNES, PROGRAM 2: DAFFY is the second of five programs in our month-long series "Still Looney After All These Years." It includes 12 classic WB cartoons, most with Daffy Duck, all in 35mm: Chuck Jones’ You Were Never Duckier (1948), My Bunny Lies Over the Sea (1948), The Scarlet Pumpernickel (1950), Drip-along Daffy (1951), Duck Dodgers in the 24 1/2th Century (1953), and Forward March Hare (1953); Arthur Davis’ The Stupor Salesman (1948); Robert McKimson’s Boobs in the Woods (1950); Friz Freleng’s Cracked Quack (1952), Hare Lift (1952), and Bugsy and Mugsy (1957); and Abe Levitow’s Really Scent (1959). See this program on Thursday or Saturday.

WATERMARK is visually stunning new doc from makers of "Manufactured Landscapes" WATERMARK is the new film from filmmaker Jennifer Baichwal and photographer Edward Burtynsky, the duo that collaborated on the extraordinary 2006 documentary Manufactured Landscapes. Their new movie should be of particular interest to those of us who live near the Great Lakes. Watermark finds Baichwal and Burtynsky traversing the globe to document humanity’s relationship with water: how we are drawn to it, what we learn from it, how we use it, and the consequences of that use. The Village Voice says that the film is "filled with images both beautiful and wrenching.” Don't miss it on Friday or Saturday. Print this email and present it at the box office and see Watermark for only $7 ($6 if you're a Cinematheque member). It's our Deal of the Week! (Limit two discount admissions per print-out) Watch the film's trailer here.

Eerie Scarlett Johansson sci-fi thriller UNDER THE SKIN will get under yours
Scarlett Johansson plays a sultry alien seductress who picks up and preys upon male earthlings in UNDER THE SKIN, a haunting, cryptic, visually stunning sci-fi fantasy that will be watched, discussed, and debated for years to come. Some have even dubbed director Jonathan Glazer the new Kubrick! Adults should not miss this movie, which is already turning up on "best of 2014" lists, when we show it on Thursday or Friday. Watch this trailer and we think you'll be intrigued!
