CIA At CMA: The Museum Of Art Calls For Student Submissions

09/03/09  |  Posted by  |  Posted in CIA Students

The Cleveland Museum of Art is calling upon Cleveland Institute of Art students to exhibit in the Museum Cafe as part of CMA's upcoming Gauguin Exhibition. In remembering Gauguin's avant-garde exhibition at Monsieur Volpini's Cafe des Arts at The Paris Exposition of 1889, the Museum will clear their cafe walls for CIA's contemporary, independent and talented artists and designers to exhibit new work. Students are invited to an information session Friday, September 4 at 12:00 noon in Ohio Bell Auditorium, to learn more about the exhibit and proposal submission guidelines from Heather Lemonedes, Ph.D., Associate Curator of Drawings at The Cleveland Museum of Art. Behind the scenes of Paul Gauguin: Paris 1889 is a Cleveland Institute of Art juried student exhibition at CMA that celebrates the influence of the Volpini Exhibition on the art career of Paul Gauguin. For more information, see the attached document with detailed description or contact Maggie Denk-Leigh, Department Head of Printmaking @ mdenk@cia.edu.
