This course investigates the historical processes, contemporary practices, and concepts students within alternative photographic image making, through the use of non-silver techniques, hand-applied emulsions and digital processes. Process and techniques covered in this course will include Cyanotype, Van Dyke Brown, Gum-Bichromate, Platinum-Palladium, Liquid Emulsion, toning options, as well as digital negatives and pinhole photography. There will also be course discuss covering environmental issues pertaining to the use photographic chemistry and materials. This course is an Open Elective course for any major.
