Cinematheque
The Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque is one of the country’s best repertory movie theaters, proclaimed by the New York Times. Founded in 1986, the alternative film theater shows art, independent, and foreign films as well as revived classics. Check out the Cinematheque film schedule.
Continuing Education
Our Office of Continuing Education + Community Outreach offers art and design classes for adults and children throughout the year. We run BASIC workshops - professional enrichment opportunities for Northeast Ohio art educators. And we coordinate a summer pre-college program for high schoolers who want to experience life as an art student. Read about our Continuing Education programs.
Galleries at CIA
CIA’s Reinberger Galleries annually host roughly 10 exhibitions of art and design. All are free and open to the public and many include lectures, films, or informal gallery talks. In addition to annual student, faculty, and Scholastic exhibitions, recent shows have featured works by internationally known artists including Andy Warhol and Ansel Adams. NEXT: Living Art and Design
NEXT is a seminar and program developed by The Cleveland Institute of Art to educate teens about how you can live a successful and fulfilling creative life in the visual arts. The program partners with art educators to provide lesson plans, interviews, profiles, events, and articles that showcase careers in studio arts and design. Visiting Artist Program
Through our Visiting Artist Program, artists of regional, national, and international renown visit the Institute and foster the exchange of ideas and methods. The public is often invited to lectures given by our visiting artists. Learn about upcoming lectures.
